Digitize 'N Stitch is embroidery design software for turning simple artwork into stitch-based designs. It is intended for people creating custom embroidery, cross-stitch and appliqué patterns, including users who want to start from clip art or a scanned image rather than build every stitch manually. Guided wizards take users through the main design workflows, from preparing artwork to choosing the type and size of the embroidery design.
The Auto-Digitizer wizard converts digital images and artwork into embroidery using complex fill stitches, appliqué, or a combination of fill and appliqué. Separate wizards focus on cross-stitch, appliqué and adding motifs, making it easier to choose a workflow suited to the desired result. Artwork can be opened in a preferred graphics editor for touch-ups before digitizing. The finished design can also be adjusted to fit a target size, which helps when matching the embroidery to a garment or project area.
For cross-stitch projects, the stitch scale can be set from 10 to 20 stitches per inch to suit Aida fabric. Appliqué designs can use built-in shapes or custom-drawn shapes, with a choice of 301 icons and 188 decorative stitches for appliqué stitching. Border options include satin stitch and e-stitch, as well as decorative motifs such as stars and shamrocks. The Magic Wand applies appliqué to an entire design or selected portions, allowing multiple appliqué areas to be arranged in one project.
The program also supports combining a pre-digitized design with a newly created design from one of its four wizards. Stitching order can be changed by resequencing color segments, a useful step when refining how a multi-color design is stitched. Supported artwork inputs include vector files, AI, EMF, WMF, BMP, JPG, TIF, PCX and TGA, so source material can come from both vector graphics and common raster-image formats.
Digitize 'N Stitch is trialware for embroidery hobbyists and designers who want to turn simple images into custom stitch patterns or create borders and appliqué shapes. Its wizard-based approach handles much of the conversion process, while size, stitch, shape and sequencing controls allow further adjustments. The software is designed for Windows; users should check current system requirements and embroidery-machine workflow needs before installation, as supported machine-output formats are not detailed here.
