Blindwrite Suite is a disc-copying and backup utility for people who want to preserve data on optical media. It reads CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs and can save their contents as an image on a hard drive or copy them to a blank disc. Its purpose is to make copies of existing media rather than author a new DVD from selected photos or videos. It is intended for personal backups of supported, non-protected discs, including documents, images, video files and game media.
The program can copy a disc directly to another disc or first create an image on the computer. The one-click workflow is suited to straightforward backups, while disc profiles let users adjust how Blindwrite handles different source types. Available profiles include automatic detection, audio CD, audio CD with data, bad-sector detection, ISO image, no-split and nibble modes. These options are useful when a disc needs a particular reading method or image format rather than a basic copy.
Blindwrite can retain disc characteristics during copying and provides controls for default reading and writing speeds.
