Paralog is a skydiving and BASE-jumping logbook for recording jumps and examining flight data. It can be used on its own, without an electronic freefall logger, and supports adding compatible devices later. Skydivers can keep jump records, equipment and license details together, then use the stored information to review individual flights or summarize their jumping activity.
Jump details can be entered manually, with freefall times calculated automatically, or downloaded from supported electronic loggers such as Neptune, ProTrack, AltiTrack and Skytronic FX/GFX. Compatible GPS units can also provide jump data and tracks. For detailed post-flight review, the profile viewer displays recorded jump profiles, while the integrated 3D viewer shows GPS tracks spatially. GPS tracks can also be exported for viewing in Google Earth.
Each log entry can include photographs, videos and additional notes, keeping media and context alongside the jump record. Paralog can digitally sign jumps for use with the USPA SIM, Section 3.1 requirements. It also stores information about rigs, licenses and other personal details. Reports and graphical charts help users examine their jump history, and the log can be printed with images and signatures using a screen-based layout.
For sharing or publishing, users can publish a logbook on the web with included indexed, tabular and drill-down templates, which can be customized. Data can be exchanged with Excel and other applications through user-editable export templates, including formats for video subtitle generators. Jump logs can also be exchanged with Paralog Companion for Windows Mobile, providing an option for users who maintain records on a compatible mobile device.
Paralog is offered as a demo and is built for Windows and other Java platforms; the developer also identifies support for macOS and Linux. The supplied Windows compatibility information covers older Windows releases, so compatibility with current Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems should be checked before installation. Device downloads depend on compatible logger or GPS hardware, while basic manual logging does not require one.
