Sequetron LE is a keyboard-controlled MIDI sequencer for recording, looping and layering performances without relying on a mouse or computer keyboard. It captures notes and chords as separate sequences, supports patterns of different lengths, and lets musicians alter channel, velocity, pitch and mute state during use. Sequences can be sent to MIDI instruments or saved as standard MIDI files for editing elsewhere.

Sequetron LE is a keyboard-controlled MIDI sequencer for musicians who want to record and layer ideas while playing, rather than operating a conventional sequencer with a mouse and computer keyboard. It turns a basic MIDI keyboard into a hands-on recording, playback and looping instrument. The keyboard is both the performance input and the control surface, while the computer handles the sequencing in the background.
The program records MIDI performances into separate sequences that can be played back and looped. Notes and chords can be captured directly as they are played; sequences are not restricted to monophonic parts or fixed step patterns. Musicians can create patterns of different lengths and start them at different times, then layer them in combination. This makes it possible to build evolving or syncopated arrangements in real time, including from simple repeated phrases.
Recorded sequences can also be altered during use. Sequetron LE provides controls for changing channel, velocity and pitch, as well as muting parts. These options let a performer reshape or rebalance a pattern without having to edit individual notes in a piano-roll interface. Playback, looping and changes to multiple sequences support experimentation while keeping the hands on the musical keyboard.
A MIDI keyboard supplies input, and the program can send its output to MIDI devices such as synthesizers and drum machines. Sequences can be saved as standard MIDI files for further editing or processing in other music software. The computer screen provides configuration, maintenance and status information, but the performance-oriented design does not depend on constant screen interaction.
Sequetron LE is freeware by Phil Tipping. Its keyboard-first approach suits live improvisation, quick recording of musical ideas and layering patterns without interrupting a performance to use desktop controls. The supplied platform information covers Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8, including some 64-bit editions; compatibility with later Windows releases is not established here. A MIDI keyboard and MIDI output device are needed for its intended musical workflow.
