BarracudaDrive for Windows 10 - Full description
BarracudaDrive is a web server for small businesses and home users who want to publish a website, share files, or reach computer resources through a browser. It combines server administration with tools for creating and managing online content, so common tasks do not require specialist server knowledge. A configuration wizard guides setup and provides instructions for connecting the server to a home cable or DSL network.
The included content management system lets users create, publish, and maintain a website from one application. It can also be used to run a blog. An electronic bulletin board provides a web-based place for messages, offering an alternative to distributing routine updates through email. These features suit households, clubs, and small organizations that need a straightforward way to maintain shared information online.
For file access, BarracudaDrive includes a WebDAV server and a browser-based file manager. WebDAV allows a home or office computer to act as a centralized file server, while the file manager supports uploads and downloads without requiring a separate client. Visitors can browse photos and stream music through the integrated MP3 player. Together, these tools make it possible to share files and media remotely using a web browser.
The server also includes an HTTPS tunnel service for securely reaching back-end systems and resources, such as email servers. SSL VPN tunnel clients provide access from client computers. For users hosting the server on a connection with a changing public IP address, an optional dynamic DNS client helps keep a domain name pointed to the current address. The setup wizard can configure compatible UPnP routers automatically, reducing the amount of manual network configuration involved.
BarracudaDrive is freeware for Windows. Its combination of web publishing, file sharing, remote access, and network setup tools is aimed at people who want to run services from a home or small-business computer rather than manage a separate hosting platform. Network features depend on the router and internet connection; automatic UPnP setup requires a compatible router, and remote access requires appropriate network configuration.
