Flashpaste Portable is a Windows clipboard and text macro tool from Softvoile, version 6.6, distributed as trialware. It is intended for users who type frequently and often reuse standard forms or text strings. It lets users insert text into text input fields.
The portable version can be stored on a USB flash drive, so custom configurations can be carried between computers. It leaves system registries intact. A setup wizard introduces the application’s features and provides interactive examples; users can skip it, rely on tooltips, or launch it again later.
The application runs mainly in the system tray. A control toolbox is accessed through hotkeys. Default hotkeys can be changed. The main window includes a side panel listing commands, which can be arranged and placed in folders. A text editor is used to write command content and provides several formatting options.
Beyond simple text insertion, specialized commands can insert the time and date or open a custom location, file, or URL. Each command cannot be assigned an individual hotkey. Pressing an existing hotkey opens a small screen for selecting the item to insert.
