Server-side image creation and processing for .NET

ImageGlue .NET is a server-side component for generating and modifying images from .NET code in ASP applications. It reads and writes formats such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, Photoshop, PDF and EPS, and can read images from AVI and MOV files. Developers can draw text, shapes and image data, apply transformations, use alpha-channel compositing, and work with image data in databases or HTTP uploads.

ImageGlue .NET for Windows 10 - Full description

ImageGlue .NET is a server-side image processing component for developers building ASP applications with .NET. It generates and modifies images from code, making it useful for websites and applications that need to create graphics dynamically, process uploaded pictures, or combine image elements without relying on manual editing. Its file-based and data-based interfaces support both ordinary file workflows and image data handled within an application.

The component can read and write common formats including BMP, PNG, TIFF, JPEG, GIF, Photoshop, PDF and EPS, alongside many other graphics formats. It can also read images from AVI and MOV files. In practice, this broad format support lets an application accept images from different sources, convert them, or produce output in a format suited to a particular workflow. ImageGlue supports more than 50 additional graphics formats beyond the named types.

For image creation, code can draw existing image files or image data alongside text, lines and shapes. Shapes may be left unfilled, filled with color, or textured. These objects can be rotated, skewed and scaled, allowing developers to compose and transform elements before saving the resulting image. OpenGL is used for drawing, texturing and anti-aliasing, with hardware acceleration available when the system supports it.

ImageGlue supports transparency through eight-bit alpha channels, which offer finer control than one-bit masks. Alpha can be read from supported image formats, such as Photoshop files, or added after an image is created. Applications can use these channels to blend or matte images together for smoother compositing. Image data can also be read from or written to databases as BLOBs, and standard HTTP uploads can feed user-submitted files into image-processing workflows. IGSettings provides system-wide configuration and operational information.

Written in Visual C++ and ATL, ImageGlue is designed for speed with limited dependencies. It is trialware for developers evaluating a server-side image-generation and manipulation component. Windows 10 is among the supported operating systems; the supplied compatibility information does not establish Windows 11 support.
