inpO2 is a PDF imposition plug-in for Adobe Acrobat Professional, aimed at print production staff who need to arrange document pages into press-ready sheet layouts. It works within Acrobat's familiar interface, so jobs can be imposed while working with the PDF rather than moving the document into a separate layout application. The workflow supports single-file jobs and includes a guided setup for common imposition tasks as well as tools for more direct layout editing.
A six-step wizard helps set up basic jobs, while predefined folding patterns provide starting points for booklet and sheet arrangements. Project types include perfect bound, saddle stitch, step and repeat, N-up, and cut and stack. Operators can adjust margins, gutters, bleed, gripper area, and creep to account for paper handling, trimming, and binding. Work-and-turn layouts are available, and the layout editor's light table gives a visual way to inspect and modify page placement. The program has no maximum sheet-size limit.
Production marks can be added to imposed sheets, including page and sheet marks, registration marks, text tags, and density bars. A document manager helps organize job documents. For more advanced publication work, inpO2 Pro adds template-based assembly and interactive imposition planning. Its Assembly Manager combines templates into booklets, calculates pagination from the folding assigned to each template, and supports separate assemblies for components such as covers and book contents. A visual assembly tree lets operators arrange templates and bindings by dragging elements into place; creep and pagination settings can be adjusted for each assembly.
The Pro planning tools also support press- and finishing-led planning, including layouts for single, half, and multiple web presses, as well as come-and-go and section-stacking work. Page-level controls, mark sets, ink management, and checkpoints provide additional control over production jobs. These tools are intended for print shops and prepress teams handling publications or other projects where sheet order, binding, and finishing affect the final result.
inpO2 is trialware and requires Adobe Acrobat Professional to use. It is available for Windows, including Windows 10, and is also offered for Macintosh. The standard workflow is designed for single-file jobs; template-based assembly and the broader planning features are part of inpO2 Pro. Network licensing is available for organizations needing multiple seats.
