PDFill PDF and Image Writer is a virtual printer for turning printable documents into PDF files or image files. It is useful for people who need to export content from applications that can print, including office software, web browsers and design programs, without relying on the original application to view or share the resulting file. Instead of printing to paper, users select the PDFill printer and save the output digitally.
For image output, the printer can create PNG, JPG, BMP, TIF or GIF files. Options for image format and quality help adapt the result to its intended use, such as sharing a readable page or preparing an image for further work. Because conversion begins with the application's print function, the same workflow can be used for documents from different programs. A PDF button is also added to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel for one-click image saving.
The PDF output includes controls for screen, print, e-book and prepress optimization, as well as fields for document information such as title, author, subject and keywords. Password protection and permissions can be applied, with support for 40-bit and 128-bit security. Page tools allow rotation by 90, 180 or 270 degrees and cropping by margins.
