RadASM for Windows 10 - Full description

RadASM is a Windows integrated development environment for assembly and several high-level programming languages. It brings source editing, project organization, building and debugging into one workspace, making it useful for programmers who work with supported assemblers or compilers and want to manage application development without switching between separate tools for each task.

The environment supports assemblers and compilers including MASM, TASM, NASM, FASM and GoAsm, as well as tools for C and C++, BASIC, Pascal and other languages. Its supported toolchains include Borland C/C++ 5.5, Visual C++ 6, Digital Mars C/C++, FreeBASIC, FreePascal, Lcc, HLA and FHLA. Programming packs can add language and tool support, and users can create packs for their own setups. Flexible build options let projects use configured compiler settings from the IDE rather than requiring every build command to be entered manually.

The editor provides syntax highlighting, code completion, tooltips, smart indentation and automatic block completion. Highlighting makes language structure easier to scan, while completion and contextual tips can reduce repetitive typing and the need to consult reference material for familiar constructs. Automatic indentation and block completion help keep code consistently organized; automatic case conversion can also help maintain a preferred capitalization style. Themes provide options for changing the editor's appearance, and reusable code templates make it possible to insert commonly used code without recreating it each time.

RadASM includes project support to keep related source files together, an integrated debugger for investigating program behavior, and add-in support for extending the environment. Its visual dialog editor allows Windows dialogs to be laid out with the mouse, offering a graphical alternative to editing dialog resources by hand. Support for custom controls lets projects use reusable interface components, including controls such as browsers, video players or spreadsheets. These tools suit programmers building Windows applications, learning assembly, maintaining existing projects or working with multiple language toolchains.

RadASM is freeware and stores its settings in an INI file rather than the Windows registry, which can simplify moving or backing up its configuration. It depends on the relevant assembler or compiler being available for the language being used; the IDE's support for a toolchain does not itself replace that toolchain. The stated operating-system compatibility includes Windows versions through Windows 10, including 64-bit editions where indicated. Windows 11 compatibility is not established here.
