Speed Dial is a Firefox add-on for keeping frequently visited websites together on a launch page. It is intended for users who want quick access to a chosen set of sites without relying on a long bookmarks list or repeatedly typing web addresses. Each saved site can be opened from the Speed Dial view, which can be reached from a toolbar button or by entering its internal address in Firefox's location bar.
To add a site, users can select Set as Speed Dial from the bookmarks menu or right-click the tab they want to save. The same command is available in the page's contextual menu. This gives the add-on more than one route for saving a page, whether it is already open in a tab or being handled through Firefox's menus. Once saved, the site becomes part of the Speed Dial collection for later access.
The extension can open Speed Dial automatically in blank browser windows. Its settings panel also controls whether the page appears in blank new tabs and provides other configuration options. This lets users choose whether Speed Dial is an occasional destination opened on demand or the default view when starting a fresh browsing session.
Speed Dial is suited to people who regularly revisit a small group of websites, such as news pages, work services or online tools. It keeps these destinations accessible from a dedicated browser page and works alongside Firefox's existing bookmarks and tabs. The add-on is freeware. The supplied operating-system support includes Windows versions through Windows 10; compatibility with later systems depends on the Firefox version and the add-on's continued support.
