LibreOffice for Windows 10 - Full description

LibreOffice is an open-source office suite for students, home users and organizations that need tools for everyday document work. Its six applications cover writing, spreadsheets, presentations, drawing, database tasks and mathematical notation. The suite also opens and edits common Microsoft Office file types, making it useful for working with documents exchanged between different office programs.

Writer handles letters, reports and other text documents, with formatting controls for structuring and styling content. It also includes tools for forms, bibliographies and chapter management, which can help with longer or more formal documents. Calc is the spreadsheet application: users can organize information in tables, apply formulas and functions, track changes and use form controls. Extensions provide a way to add capabilities to Calc.

Impress is used to build slide presentations, combining text and charts with diagrams or media files. Animations and slide transitions can be applied to control how content appears during a presentation. Draw creates graphics and diagrams that can also be inserted into other documents, while Math provides tools for writing mathematical equations. The suite includes templates to help start common document types without building their layouts from scratch.

Base provides tools for creating and working with databases. It can create local databases and connect to other database systems, including MySQL, Microsoft Access, Firebird, dBase and PostgreSQL. These components let users handle more than conventional office documents in one installed suite: for example, a report can be written in Writer, supported by spreadsheet data from Calc, and illustrated with a Draw diagram.

LibreOffice is free and open source, and the supplied system information lists support for Windows 10 and Windows 11, including 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 10. It is also listed for Windows Server 2012, Windows 8 and Windows 7. The separate applications are suited to different kinds of work, so users can choose the tools they need while keeping documents and related materials within the same office suite.
