Meridian for Windows 10 - Full description
Meridian is Windows inventory and business-management software for retailers, wholesalers, warehouses, auto-parts businesses and service centres. It brings stock control, purchasing and sales documents, point-of-sale tools, customer records and operational tasks together in one application. The software uses PostgreSQL for its database, which can run on the same computer or on a server, making it suitable for a single workstation or a shared business setup.
Product records can include categories, barcodes, images and kits, while multiple warehouses and storage locations help staff track where items are held. Users can record receipts, transfers, returns and sales; posting a document updates stock, and reports show inventory and turnover. Invoices include payment status, and sales documents can combine merchandise with labour or other services. For checkout, Meridian supports barcode-scanner-driven sales and keyboard shortcuts for common actions such as choosing a payment method, changing quantity and closing a transaction. Receipt printing can be configured with Python scripts.
Customer tools include counterparties, contact details, loyalty cards associated with phone numbers, and promotions based on turnover, bonuses, coupons, promo codes or limited-time offers. Auto-parts and repair businesses can keep a vehicle garage for each customer and search for parts by vehicle, including catalogue matches, cross-references and alternatives. Staff can manage tasks with reminders and change histories, while built-in SMTP/IMAP email and SIP telephony keep communications close to customer records. Budget planning compares planned and actual amounts by wallet and category, and cash-desk payments can be recorded automatically.
Access rights can be assigned using 13 predefined employee roles, giving administrators a starting point for controlling which parts of the system staff can use. These connected functions are intended to reduce the need to switch between separate stock, checkout and customer-management applications. Typical workflows include receiving and locating goods, processing a sale, updating inventory, tracking invoice payments and following up with customers or employees.
Meridian has English and Russian interfaces and requires 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 together with PostgreSQL 12 or newer. PostgreSQL may be installed locally or hosted on a server; a database kit is available from the program website. The software is free for up to 10 seats, with larger seat packages available as one-time purchases.
