TotalReminder is a personal organizer for people who want to manage reminders, contacts, notes and recurring tasks in one Windows application. Its event alerts help keep birthdays, appointments and other dates visible, while separate tools handle information such as passwords, phone numbers and records of past events. A month calendar provides another way to review scheduled items, and an optional view can include scheduled activities.
The event manager lets users choose reminder intervals and displays a pop-up when an event is due; an alert can be snoozed when it needs to be postponed. The scheduler applies recurring time rules to launch installed applications, open documents or visit web pages. This can be used for routine computer tasks as well as regular online checks. The contact manager stores common address-book details and supports searches by name, phone number or email address. Contacts that are rarely needed can be deactivated instead of deleted.
For keeping information beyond upcoming events, TotalReminder includes a log for searchable dated notes and an auto-saved notepad for quick reminders. Its password manager encrypts stored secrets behind a master password. Contacts and events can be imported from a range of sources, and synchronization helps keep data aligned across installations on different computers. Backup and restore tools protect the organizer's records; creation and last-modified times are also shown for individual items.
Additional utilities include a stopwatch, countdown timer and date-time calculator, along with a name-day manager and sunrise and sunset information for locations around the world. Name-day data must be imported before that feature can be used. A tray-icon calendar displays four to twelve months without opening the main application, but it does not provide TotalReminder's alarms. A companion Communicator uses saved contacts to send email or prepare printed mail.
TotalReminder is trialware and is intended for Windows systems. Its stated requirements include Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5; the installer attempts to install the database component if it is missing. Its combination of calendar alerts, contact storage and lightweight scheduling suits personal organization, while the notes, password storage and backup features provide a place to keep related reference information.
