UMove x64 helps Windows administrators back up, recover, move or clone a Microsoft Active Directory database. It can create scheduled daily snapshots, retrieve directory data from a non-bootable computer, and copy a domain controller's database to faster hardware. Administrators can also clone Active Directory to a virtual machine for testing. The utility is demo software for 64-bit Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.

UMove x64 is a Windows utility for administrators who need to copy, back up, recover or relocate a Microsoft Active Directory database. It can create snapshots of directory data and work with a computer that will not boot, making it useful when ordinary access to a domain controller is unavailable. The program focuses on the Active Directory database rather than general file or system backup, and supports recovery, migration and test-copy tasks.
For routine protection, UMove can create scheduled daily backups of Active Directory. Administrators can use these snapshots as recovery points, or make a copy of the database for later use. When a computer fails to start, the utility can rescue the database from that machine, providing a way to retrieve directory data without first restoring the original system to a working state.
UMove also supports moving a domain controller to faster hardware. Copying the Active Directory database provides a starting point for the move, while cloning it to a virtual machine lets administrators prepare a separate environment for testing. A VM copy can be used to examine changes or troubleshoot scenarios without making those tests against the live directory. These workflows make the program relevant to both recovery planning and controlled maintenance.
The utility is aimed at Windows administrators responsible for Active Directory and domain controller maintenance. Its tasks include recurring backups, recovery from a non-bootable computer, hardware migration and creation of a test clone. UMove x64 is offered as demo software. The supplied operating-system support covers 64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8; Windows 10 and Windows 11 compatibility is not established here.
