Vowen combines speech-to-text dictation, audio transcription and voice-triggered assistant commands in a Windows desktop application. It is suited to people who want to enter text by speaking, turn recordings into written transcripts or start everyday tasks with spoken instructions. Its AI-based speech tools support different model sizes, allowing users to choose a model according to their accuracy needs.
For dictation, the user focuses a text field and presses a hotkey to begin speaking. Vowen inserts the recognized words into that field, making it useful for drafting messages, notes and other text without typing. The Dictionary menu can store specialized terms so they are more likely to be recognized correctly. Threads provide phrase shortcuts: when a configured phrase is spoken, Vowen replaces it with a saved message or text, such as expanding a brief cue into a frequently used link.
The Transcriber works with uploaded audio files and converts their speech into text. Transcripts can be exported as plain text or as VTT and SRT subtitle files, which include timestamps.
