Blue Cat's Parametr'EQ is a seven-band parametric EQ plug-in for precise correction, tone shaping and analog-style coloration. It combines low and high shelf or cut filters with five boost/cut bands, nonlinear modeling, oversampling and a live, accurately computed frequency-response graph. MIDI control, automation, an output peak meter and an optional brickwall limiter support mixing and real-time use.

Blue Cat's Parametr'EQ is a seven-band parametric equalizer plug-in for audio production. It is designed for musicians, mix engineers and sound designers who need precise tonal shaping, from transparent corrective EQ to more colored processing. Its filters are modeled after analog circuits, while nonlinear processing and oversampling provide options for shaping the character of each EQ stage.
The filter layout combines a low shelf or low-cut filter, five boost/cut bands, and a high shelf or high-cut filter. Each band offers up to 40 dB of gain adjustment and bandwidth settings from 0.01 to 5 octaves, making it possible to target narrow resonances or make broad tonal changes. Nonlinear modeling can add compression or distortion associated with analog-style EQ, while cleaner settings support more transparent adjustments. Automatic gain compensation helps keep output levels manageable as the EQ changes.
A live response graph displays the computed frequency response of the filters, rather than an idealized curve inferred from the controls. Zooming and a customizable display range make the graph easier to read when working on specific frequency regions. An output peak meter provides level monitoring, and an optional brickwall limiter can help prevent excessive output peaks. Oversampling is available to support audio quality across different sampling rates, and the plug-in operates without latency for real-time use.
For automated mixing and performance, parameters can be controlled from a host sequencer or by MIDI, with MIDI Learn available for assigning controls. Smooth parameter updates allow continuous changes without zipper noise, and filter activation and bypass transitions are also smoothed. Users can choose among the included interface skins, adjust window opacity, or customize the appearance using Blue Cat's skinning language. These controls let the interface fit different studio workflows without changing the audio-processing functions.
Parametr'EQ suits corrective mixing, broad tone shaping, analog-style coloration and live processing where low latency matters. It is a VST audio plug-in intended for use inside compatible music software, rather than a standalone audio editor. The software is offered as a demo, and Windows 10 is among its supported operating systems.
