Faronics Core is a centralized endpoint management console for IT administrators responsible for multiple Windows workstations. It brings workstation status and supported Faronics product controls into one place, helping teams organize machines and carry out routine maintenance without managing each endpoint individually. Administrators can view details such as computer name, online status and operating system, then arrange workstations into custom workgroups that reflect departments, sites or other administrative needs.
The console supports software deployment across managed workstations. Administrators can install Faronics products and third-party applications, run custom configuration scripts, and schedule deployments for after-hours maintenance. Windows updates can be obtained through Microsoft WSUS and scheduled for installation. For machines that need to receive urgent patches, administrators can wake endpoints on the local network and apply updates directly, reducing the need for manual visits to each computer.
Faronics Core also helps manage laptops that are temporarily offline. Active Tasks retain maintenance jobs and configuration changes until a laptop reconnects, when the pending work can be applied. Workstation records include additional administrative details such as device type, server operating system, current user ID and last login date. A workstation history window shows tasks that have run or are still running, while custom notes can be attached to a machine for reference and easier searching. Product alerts appear in the Core Console and can also be forwarded to an email address through SMTP.
Organizations using several Faronics products can load multiple product modules into Core and manage supported tools through the same console. Integration with Deep Freeze enables administrators to make configuration changes to Faronics software while a workstation is in its Frozen state. Other integrated products include Faronics Anti-Virus, Anti-Executable, Power Save, WINSelect and System Profiler. This shared administration workflow is intended to simplify upkeep across computer labs, schools, offices and other environments with sizable workstation fleets.
Faronics Core is commercial trialware. Its listed operating-system support includes Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10, with selected 64-bit editions; the product information also notes Windows Server 2012 support. It is designed for IT administration rather than personal desktop use, and its deployment, update and integration functions are most useful in organizations already managing a collection of endpoints and Faronics software.
