MagicPlot Pro is a scientific and engineering data analysis application for researchers, technicians and others who need to turn measured data into fitted models and publication-ready plots. It combines data import, mathematical processing, nonlinear curve fitting and figure design in one desktop workflow, so analysis and presentation can be handled within the same project.
For nonlinear fitting, users enter an equation, choose or adjust the data range visually, and run the fit. The application also supports multipeak analysis: peaks and the baseline can be positioned with the mouse, individual peaks can be subtracted, and residuals can be inspected to assess the result. Fitting algorithms have been tested against NIST datasets. For repeated work, batch processing applies the same processing and fitting steps to multiple datasets without scripting, then summarizes series-fit parameters in a table.
Text-based data can be imported through the text-table import tool. MagicPlot Pro recognizes column delimiters and decimal separators automatically, reducing setup when working with files saved by different instruments or applications. Once imported, data can be explored with smoothing, FFT, integration, differentiation, histograms, convolution and correlation. Navigation tools help inspect plotted data at different scales, with mouse-wheel modifiers for zooming and scrolling and a hand tool for panning.
The plot editor provides controls for curve and axis styles, allowing figures to be adjusted for reports, papers or presentations. Finished plots can be exported as vector graphics in EPS, PDF, SVG or EMF formats. Style templates preserve figure formatting, including axis titles and scales, so the same appearance can be applied across multiple plots. Multilevel undo and redo, with a view of the edit history, lets users try changes to processing settings, fits and plot styles without losing earlier work.
MagicPlot Pro is trialware for Windows and is also available for macOS and Linux, making it suitable for teams working across different operating systems; projects can be exchanged between them. The Windows compatibility information covers Windows versions through Windows 10. Its combination of data analysis, batch fitting and vector plot export is suited to laboratory measurements, engineering datasets and other technical work where results need to be both analyzed and clearly presented.
