PicoScope is measurement and analysis software from Pico Technology for use with compatible USB oscilloscopes and other Pico instruments. It gives engineers, technicians, educators and electronics hobbyists a PC-based workspace for viewing electrical signals, capturing events and examining data. The connected instrument supplies the measurement hardware; the software provides controls and displays for working with it.
In oscilloscope mode, users view signals as waveforms and adjust acquisition settings to inspect activity as it happens or capture it for later analysis. Trigger controls help isolate particular signal events, including conditions that may be difficult to catch by watching a continuously updating display. Multiple channels and views support comparisons between signals, while measurement tools report values such as voltage, frequency and phase. Depending on the attached instrument, sampling rate, bandwidth and available channels vary.
Spectrum analyzer mode presents signal content by frequency, helping users investigate frequency components in audio, RF and other electronic work. The software also includes serial decoding for CAN, LIN and FlexRay, useful when examining communications on vehicle networks. Support for Pico Technology data loggers, signal generators and spectrum analyzers extends the same software environment to other measurement tasks; the functions available depend on the connected device.
The interface offers configurable displays, toolbars and drag-and-drop controls so users can arrange views around a particular test. Captures can be examined after acquisition, allowing measurements and signal behavior to be reviewed without relying only on the live display.
