NadIR is a freeware impulse response convolver for guitarists, producers and audio engineers. Its dual IR loader blends two cabinet simulations, with individual volume, pan, phase and high- and low-pass controls for each slot. A mix control balances the responses, and zero-latency processing supports real-time playing. It is available as a VST, AU and AAX plugin.

NadIR is an impulse response convolver for guitarists, producers and audio engineers who use cabinet simulations to shape an amplified guitar sound. It loads impulse response (IR) files, which reproduce the tonal characteristics of speaker cabinets and related recording setups. The plugin is useful after an amp simulator or other guitar processing, where cabinet responses can add realistic speaker character or provide a basis for more experimental tones.
Its dual IR loader accepts two impulse responses at once, so users can combine different cabinet captures rather than choosing only one. Each slot has its own volume and pan controls, along with phase inversion to help manage how the two signals interact. A mix control adjusts the balance between the IRs, allowing one response to provide the main character while the other adds body, brightness or width. These controls make it practical to compare and blend cabinet tones within a single plugin instance.
NadIR also includes high-pass and low-pass filters for each IR slot. These can remove unwanted low or high frequencies from an individual response before the two are combined, helping keep the resulting tone focused. The plugin is designed for zero-latency processing, which suits real-time playing as well as recording and mixing. Its straightforward layout keeps loading, filtering and balancing the responses together in one place, without requiring separate instances for each cabinet capture.
In a studio workflow, a guitarist can place NadIR after an amp model, load two cabinet IRs and adjust their levels, phase and filtering while monitoring the result. The same approach can be used to build a consistent cabinet sound across recorded parts or to try different blends during mixing. For live use, its low-delay processing supports playing through an amp-simulation setup while the cabinet response is applied in real time. It is intended for working with IR files rather than serving as a complete amplifier or a standalone recording application.
NadIR is freeware and is offered as a plugin in VST, AU and AAX formats for integration with compatible audio software. The provided system information includes Windows 10 and Windows 11, as well as Windows 8 and Windows 7, in 32-bit and 64-bit editions. Compatibility with a particular DAW depends on its support for the relevant plugin format. Users can bring their own impulse response files, with support for a wide range of IR formats.
