RapidMiner Community Edition is a visual data-mining and machine-learning environment for analysts, researchers, and developers who want to build and compare data workflows. Its graphical interface represents an experiment as a tree of connected operators, making preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and other steps visible in one workflow. This structure supports interactive exploration as well as repeatable analysis.
Operators can be arranged and adjusted to test different combinations of data preparation and learning methods. Reusable trees and subtrees let users save common workflow sections as building blocks, while optimization methods can automate the search for effective configurations. The software includes more than 400 operators for machine learning, evaluation, input and output, preprocessing, post-processing, and visualization, along with an integrated WEKA machine-learning library.
Data can be handled through a multi-layered view, and experiments use an XML representation for standardized interchange. Plotting tools provide visual exploration of data and models, including high-dimensional visualizations. A scripting language supports automated large-scale experiments, and command-line batch mode can run workflows without interactive GUI use.
