Geneious PRO x64
Geneious Pro is a bioinformatics suite for researchers, laboratory teams and students working with DNA, RNA, protein and other biological data. It brings sequence analysis, visualization, ...

Geneious Basic is a bioinformatics workspace for molecular biology and biochemistry research. It organizes and searches sequences, annotations, alignments, trees, publications and protein structures, and integrates searches with GenBank, PubMed, BLAST and UniProt. Tools include pairwise and multiple sequence alignment, phylogenetic tree building, protein translation extraction and 3D structure visualization. It also supports common research formats, automated searches and free plugins.

Geneious Basic is a bioinformatics workspace for molecular biologists and biochemistry researchers who need to retrieve, organize and analyze biomolecular data without managing each task in separate tools. It brings sequence data, publications, alignments, phylogenetic trees and protein structures together in one environment, helping researchers keep the materials for a project accessible and searchable.
The program connects searches to resources including GenBank, PubMed, BLAST and UniProt. Researchers can find nucleotide or protein information and publications, then organize the results alongside their own sequences and related documents. Search and organization tools support sequences with annotations as well as alignments, trees and other research materials, making it easier to locate relevant items in a growing project collection.
For sequence analysis, Geneious Basic includes pairwise and multiple alignment tools, plus methods for building phylogenetic trees. Tree workflows can include bootstrapping and consensus trees. The software can extract protein translations from nucleotide sequences and provides sequence-analysis functions and 3D structure visualization. These tools let researchers move from collected sequence data to comparisons and visual review within the same workspace.
Import and export options support formats such as FASTA, Newick, Nexus and EndNote, along with PDFs, 3D structures, chromatograms and files from applications including Vector NTI, DNA Strider and Clustal. Automated agents can monitor for new publications and sequences, bringing relevant results into a researcher's workspace instead of relying on repeated manual searches and copy-and-paste. Free plugins extend the available functions, and a public Java API allows developers to create plugins for additional workflows.
Geneious Basic is intended for researchers who want to use core bioinformatics methods as part of molecular biology work, without needing to be specialist bioinformaticians. It can support literature and sequence searches, sequence organization and analysis, and phylogenetic exploration. The software is freeware and is supplied here as a 64-bit Windows edition; the available platform information identifies older Windows releases, so compatibility with Windows 10 or Windows 11 should be checked before installation.
