System Spec for Windows 10 - Full description

System Spec is a portable Windows system-information utility for people who need a readable inventory of a PC without installing a larger diagnostic suite. It gathers hardware, Windows and network details into one report, with an emphasis on useful specifications rather than a long dump of low-level memory addresses. Its standalone executable can be run directly, making it practical for checking machines on a support desk or collecting details from several computers for comparison.

The report covers the processor type and speed, including a calculated CPU speed, installed memory, motherboard, BIOS date, manufacturer and product identifiers, and PC serial number. Storage and connected hardware are represented through hard-disk details and serial numbers, optical-drive make and model, sound hardware, video adapters, screen resolution, modem, mouse capabilities, and available USB, FireWire, COM and LPT ports. These entries help users identify components and compare the specifications of different machines when planning upgrades or documenting equipment.

System Spec also collects Windows and system context, including the Windows version and service pack, Windows serial number, computer name, username, time zone, default printer, and Internet Explorer version. Network information includes the IP address, MAC address, whether networking is present, and network adapters. On laptops, it can show AC power and battery charge status, along with PCMCIA information. The application can also display installed applications, drives and other system details, giving the report broader coverage than a hardware-only inventory.

Results can be saved as a text file, exported to CSV, or written to an HTML file. The HTML report can be hosted on a website when a user wants to publish a machine's specifications; text and CSV are suited to keeping records or comparing multiple systems. System Spec includes a System menu for Windows actions such as Run and shutdown, plus a Control Panel menu that opens its items directly. These shortcuts place basic system tasks alongside the information-gathering workflow.

The program is freeware and runs as a self-contained executable, so it does not require a conventional installation. It is intended for Windows PCs, with listed support extending through Windows 10; Windows 11 compatibility is not established here. The combination of portable operation, export formats and focused hardware and software details makes it useful for technicians, administrators and PC owners who need a concise system report for troubleshooting, inventory or comparison.
