NetSetMan is a Windows network configuration manager for people who switch regularly between different networks, including laptop users moving between home, office and other locations, as well as administrators handling several network setups. It stores connection settings in separate profiles so a change of location does not require re-entering network details each time.
Each profile can hold settings such as an IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS server. A user selects the profile suited to the current network and applies it to switch the computer's configuration. Keeping settings grouped by location can also make it easier to return to a known setup and reduce mistakes caused by changing individual values manually. The software supports up to six profiles in its free edition, while the Pro edition provides capacity for more profiles.
Profiles can also include Wi-Fi and proxy settings, bringing common connection adjustments into the same workflow. NetSetMan can run custom scripts when a profile is switched, which gives experienced users and IT staff a way to include additional actions alongside the network change. These options are useful when different locations require more than a different IP or DNS configuration, or when a recurring setup needs a scripted step.
Typical uses include moving a laptop between a workplace and a home network, maintaining distinct configurations for client sites, and preparing repeatable settings for multiple network environments. Instead of opening system network controls and editing parameters one by one, users can choose the appropriate saved profile. The profile-based approach is especially practical for people who make these changes often and want consistent settings across visits.
NetSetMan is available for Windows 10 and Windows 11, as well as earlier Windows releases. The Pro edition adds features such as importing and exporting settings and access to technical support. It is a focused utility for managing network configurations rather than a general-purpose connection troubleshooting or monitoring tool. Its multilingual interface supports use in different language environments.
