DC++ is a free, open-source client for the Direct Connect file-sharing network. It connects to multiple community-run hubs, where members share files and follow each hub's rules. The client searches selected or connected hubs by name, type, size or hash, and supports queued, prioritized and resumable downloads. Tiger Tree Hashes help verify files and find alternate sources. It also includes hub favorites, chat, MAGNET links and router support.

DC++ is an open-source client for the Direct Connect peer-to-peer file-sharing network. It is intended for people who want to exchange files through community-run hubs, where members connect and share content under rules set by each hub's operator. Rather than relying on one central catalog, the network is organized around these individual hubs, which users can join and search through the client.
The client can connect to several hubs at once, making it possible to browse and search more than one community in a single session. Favorite hubs and users can be saved for quicker access, and automatic connections can restore selected hub connections when DC++ starts. Searches can be limited to chosen hubs or run across all connected hubs, with filters for file name, type, size or hash. These options help narrow results when a hub contains a large number of shared files.
Downloads can be queued, assigned priorities and resumed after an interruption. Segmented downloading can retrieve parts of a file from available sources, while automatic searches for alternate sources can use the file's Tiger Tree Hash (TTH) to locate matching content. TTH checks also help verify file integrity. Users can save other members' file lists to browse them later and add selected items to the download queue. The client supports MAGNET links for opening references to specific content.
DC++ includes chat for hub discussions and private messages, along with configurable logging for conversations, uploads and downloads. It can share many files arranged in the user's own folder structure, and bandwidth limits provide a way to control how much network capacity transfers use. Built-in UPnP router configuration, NAT traversal and firewall support help with connections through common network setups; encrypted communication and file transfers are also supported through SSL. Interface translations can be added using gettext language files.
The program is free, open-source software under the GNU GPL and does not include advertising, spyware or bundled software. It is available for Windows, including Windows 10 and Windows 11. Access to shared files depends on joining hubs and following their individual rules; users should check each hub's policies before sharing or downloading content.
