Internet Sharing is a plugin for Advanced Serial Data Logger that forwards data captured from a COM port to online destinations. It works with bytes selected from the incoming stream by the logger's parser, making it useful for monitoring setups that need to deliver specific serial data beyond the local computer. The plugin handles transmission rather than replacing the logger or configuring the serial device itself.
Data can be sent using SMTP email, FTP, SFTP, HTTP or HTTPS. Multiple destinations can be configured at once, including receivers that use different protocols, and each connection can have its own settings. This lets a monitoring workflow deliver the same parsed data to, for example, an email recipient and a server without requiring both endpoints to use the same transfer method. Secure and unsecure connections are supported where the selected protocol allows them.
For email delivery, the message subject, From field and body can be customized. Before sending, the plugin can rename a file and compress it into a ZIP archive, which can reduce transfer size and provide a more manageable attachment or upload. Connection configurations are saved when Advanced Serial Data Logger closes and restored when it starts again, so configured destinations do not need to be entered for every session.
