PDFill PDF Editor is a Windows program for filling out forms, editing page content and annotating PDF documents. It is useful for people who need to prepare paperwork, mark up files or add information to existing PDFs without relying on interactive form fields or Adobe Acrobat. Editing can be saved back to the original PDF, so text, graphics and annotations can remain together in a single document.
For interactive forms, PDFill can fill text fields, check boxes, radio buttons, combo boxes and list boxes. It can also create, edit, delete, reset and submit these fields, with actions such as simple calculations attached to form controls. Form data can be imported from or exported to tab-delimited text and Excel files, which helps when information needs to be reused or handled in batches. Autofill and spell-checking tools support routine form completion, and work can be saved and resumed later.
The editor can place formatted text, check marks, images, hyperlinks, highlights and whiteout areas at chosen positions, including on PDFs that have no built-in fields. Blank pages can be created or inserted before adding content. For review and markup, it supports text boxes, sticky notes, pop-up notes, file attachments, video, lines, arrows and geometric shapes. Drawing tools provide adjustable borders and fills, and can also be used to draw a signature. Scanning paper forms or photos into a new or existing PDF provides another way to bring documents into the editing workflow.
Additional controls help organize and prepare finished files. Bookmarks can link to pages in the current PDF, external PDFs, other documents or web pages. PDF actions can open links, submit or reset forms, run JavaScript, navigate between pages, open another PDF or launch an external application. Headers and footers can add information such as dates and page numbers across document margins. Before saving, users can adjust viewing preferences, rotate or crop pages, and apply encryption or decryption options; completed files can be saved, printed or emailed.
PDFill PDF Editor is freeware for Windows, including Windows 10. The broader PDFill offering also includes a professional edition and separate PDF utilities and printer tools; professional editing may apply a watermark during evaluation. The editor is suited to office paperwork, forms, scanned documents and collaborative review, with features spanning form preparation, page editing and document navigation.
