SecureCRT is a terminal emulation program for network administrators, IT professionals and developers who need to connect to remote systems or network equipment. It supports SSH, Telnet and serial connections, bringing command-line access to different types of hosts into one application. Its session-based approach is useful for managing recurring connections without having to re-enter connection details each time.
The tabbed interface lets users keep several connections open and switch between them in one window. Saved sessions can be organized and customized for different hosts or devices, making it easier to work across multiple environments. SSH connections use encryption to protect data in transit, with support for AES, 3DES and Blowfish, as well as public key authentication and X.509 certificates. Port forwarding and dynamic port forwarding let users route other network traffic through an SSH connection.
SecureCRT can record session activity in log files, which helps with troubleshooting, auditing and keeping a record of command-line work. Its scripting support, including Python and VBScript, can automate repetitive operations across sessions.
