TabMerger for Firefox for Windows 10 - Full description

TabMerger for Firefox is an open-source browser add-on for people who regularly keep many tabs open and need a clearer way to organize them. Instead of relying only on the browser's tab bar or bookmarks, it collects tabs into named, color-coded groups in a dedicated interface. Groups make it easier to distinguish work, research, shopping, and other browsing sessions, especially when many pages would otherwise remain open at once.

The add-on can gather tabs positioned to the left or right of its own tab, using controls to merge the corresponding set into a group. Tabs added this way are closed in the browser by default, reducing tab-bar clutter while keeping them available in TabMerger; this behavior can be changed in the settings. Pinned tabs can be excluded from merging, which helps preserve tabs that are intended to stay open. Groups can be created as needed, assigned colors, and locked or unlocked to control their organization.

After tabs have been collected, groups and their contents can be rearranged by dragging and dropping. A button opens tabs from a group, making it practical to restore a set of pages when returning to a task. Individual tabs can be marked as favorites so they appear at the top of the list for quicker access. These features provide different ways to manage a collection: groups separate topics, favorites bring frequently used pages forward, and drag-and-drop keeps the arrangement aligned with current priorities.

TabMerger is useful for research projects, ongoing work, and other activities that involve switching between sets of webpages. A user can collect pages that are not needed immediately, close them out of the tab bar, then reopen a whole group when it is time to resume. The color coding and favorites also help locate specific pages without manually scanning a long row of tabs. A step-by-step tutorial appears on first launch to introduce the add-on's controls and workflow.

TabMerger is a Firefox add-on distributed as open-source software. It is available for Windows 10 and Windows 11, as well as older Windows releases. Its tab collection, grouping, and restoration tools are intended for use within Firefox; they do not replace Firefox bookmarks, but offer a separate way to organize tabs that may need to be reopened together.
